Welbeck Primary School
Welbeck Primary School, located in the Meadows district of Nottingham City, is a highly acclaimed educational institution, consistently achieving “Outstanding” ratings in OFSTED inspections. In 2024, it was recognised as the top-performing school in Nottingham City, with student achievements in reading, writing, and mathematics exceeding national averages. Currently, Welbeck Primary provides education for 360 pupils aged 2-11 years.
Welbeck Meadows will be an extension of the existing primary school, built upon a foundation of strong personal relationships and a child-centric approach. Each year group will be designed with a smaller-than-average cohort, with a maximum of 75 pupils, to facilitate highly personalised learning. This will include 45 primary school places and an additional 30 places for Year 7 pupils from The Meadows area.
The “all-through” model, educating pupils from ages 2 to 16, is designed to support all children holistically. It emphasises early intervention and effective tracking across year and school transitions, aiming to ensure every pupil achieves success emotionally and academically, and ultimately becomes an active, contributing member of society.
This transformation is expected to yield numerous educational and economic benefits for the Meadows community. Educationally, it promises improved student attainment, reduced dropout and exclusion rates, and a seamless educational journey. Economically, the project anticipates job creation, local business growth, and a potential increase in property values, establishing Welbeck Meadows as a cornerstone of educational excellence and community development in the area.
